Siemens SIMATIC Automation — Beverage Plant, Kano
In one of Jude Elswitch Limited's most technically demanding projects, we partnered with Siemens Nigeria to deliver the complete electrical and automation engineering for a newly constructed non-alcoholic beverage production line in Kano State. The plant produces 60,000 bottles per hour across two production lines and required a deep integration between Siemens SIMATIC S7-1500 PLCs, Siemens SINAMICS variable-speed drives, and SCADA-based production management.
Our scope covered: PLC programming and HMI configuration; MCC room design and construction with Siemens SIVACON 8PS busbar trunking; motor control centres for 140 motors ranging from 0.37 kW to 110 kW; process instrumentation wiring (temperature, level, flow, pressure); integration with SAP production modules; FAT and SAT testing; and an intensive 4-week operator and maintenance team training programme.
The plant has been operating at design capacity since commissioning, contributing to import substitution of over ₦4 billion worth of beverages annually.
