State Teaching Hospital ICT & Power Modernisation
Jude Elswitch Limited secured the contract to modernise the ICT infrastructure and power systems of a 450-bed Federal Teaching Hospital, transforming it from a paper-based, power-unreliable facility into a digitally-enabled, resilient healthcare environment.
The ICT scope delivered a Hospital Information System (HIS) deployment across 14 clinical departments; LAN structured cabling to all wards, theatre complexes, pharmacy, laboratory, and administrative blocks (over 1,200 data points); an IP-based nurse-call and emergency alerting system; a 120-camera IP-CCTV system covering all public areas and medicine stores; and digital signage across OPD corridors.
For power, we installed a 500 kVA Schneider Electric APC UPS system protecting the Theatre, ICU, NICU, and radiology wing; replaced 12 obsolete LV distribution boards; retro-fitted 2,400 LED luminaires in clinical areas; and commissioned a new 800 kVA standby generator with an ATS that achieves a 5-second switchover time.
Post-project, patient record access times dropped from an average of 45 minutes (paper retrieval) to under 90 seconds, and unplanned power disruption to critical areas was eliminated.
