FAAN Airport Power Infrastructure Upgrade
Jude Elswitch Limited was awarded the contract to overhaul and upgrade the power distribution infrastructure at a major Nigerian international airport — one of the most operationally sensitive projects in our portfolio. The project covered six distinct zones across the airport landside and airside, with all works carried out under live airport operations.
Delivered scope included: replacement of three ageing 11 kV ring main units with new ABB UniSec switchgear panels; installation of 2 MVA of new Schneider Electric transformer capacity; full rewiring of the terminal building's LV distribution from HRC fuse-gear to modern MCCB-protected boards; retrofit of 4,200 luminaires to LED (delivering 55% energy savings on lighting); installation of a new 500 kVA UPS system protecting Category 1 aviation loads (runway lighting controls, ATC interfaces); and commissioning of a comprehensive energy monitoring system.
A team of 35 engineers and technicians worked in dedicated shifts to deliver the project with zero disruption to flight operations, earning a formal commendation from the Airport Authority.
